Paecilomyces variotii, microscopy

Branches which arise from conidiophores verticillately or irregulary bear a few or more phialides. Phialides are cylindrical, flask-shaped or lageniform, tapering abruptly to a long slender neck.
Conidia are ellipsoidal, fusiform, smooth, hyaline to yellowish brown, produced in chains.
